The Real Paris Plage Beach – Paris or Le Touquet?

I 2002, the mayor of Paris launched Operation Paris-Plage,  the idea was to give Parisians their own beach right  on the  Seine. (sand, palm trees, games …).  Paris filed the name “Paris-Plage” in order to use it commercially.

But hang on a minute there is already a Paris-Plage also known as Le Touquet-Paris-Plage .
Denying any agreement or friendly collaboration, the mayor of Paris ends up bringing a lawsuit against the town of Le Touquet-Paris-Plage, so that it ceases not to use the name.

Dismissed in 2006, the mayor of Paris is forced  to add an “med” in the name of his operation, which became Paris-Plages, which opened a new “strand” on the left bank in front of the Bibliothèque nationale.

Den 2009 edition of Paris-Plages will be held in Paris from 20 July to 20 Augusti.
